Any of you guys have acoustic guitars that you play?
Brand name? Model?
Does it play well?
I have two Takamines. One has a pickup -- Model EF370SK Nice instrument. I bought it new in 1982. It has some battle scars, but it still plays nice and sounds great.
The other one is a lower end but still not a bad guitar. It has no electronics but has a single cutaway. I play mostly Bluegrass and Gospel.

Alvarez Yari Concert Model. Sounds better than most of my friends Martin’s that cost much more. Both in volume and tone. They are usually jealous.
I use to have an old Takamine 12 string that was a get old guitar.
Mostly play a Fender TeleCaster nowadays.
Arthritis in my fingers have slowed me down quite a bit.

I hear you on the arthritis. I used to have a Gibson Les Paul Recording but like a fool I sold it.

I’ve got a Martin d18vs 12fret slothead with a 35 sunburst finish. Great tone and sustain. I also picked up an Eastman ac108ce right before China released the bug on the world. I think of those bastards every time I go to pick it up....

My son has a couple of off names. He also has a fender parlor guitar, a Yamaha, & a Taylor. The Taylor has internal pickup, & is a sweet guitar. He plays older country, rock, blues ,bluegrass. I played when I was younger, but he has far more talent than me.

I’m an accomplished guitarist by no means but have an acoustic Fender that I bought for a first guitar that sounds alright to my ear for what I paid for it. My other guitar is a Les Paul Studio that I play equally mediocre. Both are just something that I pick up and work at for a bit when I have downtime around the house.

Always drooled over a Martin D28S but the cost was way too high, and they told me the waiting list was 18 months at the time.

I have a seagull s6 that I've been trying to learn on. It's cherry wood with an alder top. Folks that know more than I do say it plays well. I'm beginning to think I'm too old to learn. I should have started 40 years ago....

Son has a 69 Gibson flat top that is the best sounding accoustic I've ever heard. No talent here. He has it all.

I have an old Takamine 12 string Mahogany that actually sounds quite good. It doesn't get played that much anymore. The main guitar I play is a Crafters of Tennessee mahogany. Great sounding guitar that isn't made any more. The other guitar I play is a Gernandt 6 string in Claro Walnut. The Gernandt, like the Crafters is a hand built custom that just sounds awesome with an enormous amount of projection. I call it my Banjo killer. https://www.gernandt.com/dreadnought_acoustic_guitars.php

If we’re talking sound over wood choices, fancy clear-finished woods, name cache, etc - the alvarez has been one of the better choices for some 20+ years i think. Been away from guitar tho a few years myself, tho; sure are other excellent ones, too. But, that’d be my suggestion. Performing musician friend gently suggested trying an alvarez, instead of some of the alluring (to the eye) stuff out there i was contemplating. By God, he was right.

How about a decent sounding moderately priced one for an eight year old?

Had a very nice 1968 Gibson Southern Jumbo for many years but my son relieved me of it. Recently got the bug to play again and went over to The Guitar Center. I thought I’d get another Gibson but after playing about 30 different guitars I ended up buying a Taylor. It has an internal pickup but I haven’t used it; don’t need it just serenading the wife.
