Condition? Scoped? Does it still have the rings it came with? Factory box? Not enough data for an answer.
There's a post-warning 6mm Rem. 77R at my LGS. The stock is beat to schidt, the bore hasn't been cleaned so is an unknown to my eyeball looking down the tube. There is some unburnt powder left in the hole, so that may be worth something. There are no rings with the gun, no box, little rust spots starting here & there. Nice trigger though. It may be a good ugly stick shooter... or not. Asking $780. As it is, even $550 is way too much for me to spend on it. A Swift is not much different, maybe even more common than a 6mm sporter.

My swift is Perfict except for maybe a few safe dings No box origonal rings no scope I used it a few years for calling coyotes and shot one deer with it. Never had any high volume hot barrel days. He offered me 800 for it but I thought that was too much for a friend. But then again I never concidered selling it before

Could be valuable if it’s a Flat Bolt, a Varmint model, or an early model with a douglas barrel.

As a sporter model, it should have a 24" barrel. These are much more scarce than the 26" varmint barreled rifles. Many claim that there were no flat bolt sporter models made. Personally I think there could be a few. It is fairly common to see flat bolt varmint rifles. Considering the round bolt rifles, the heavy 26" barrel is by far more common and it should have a 71- or higher serial number prefix. If it is a round bolt and has a 70- serial number prefix, that would put it in the rare category. Of course all this assumes a rifle that letters from Ruger as being correct and unaltered.

Buy something you will use or blow it on dancing girls. But, don’t sell if if you really don’t want to. I’ve seen a number of posts here about guys getting pressured by friends to sell stuff they’d rather keep. A real friend wouldn’t push it.

Do the Liberty models bring a premium? Asking because I had a M77 257R that belonged to my father that I foolishly sold years ago and have been kicking myself ever since. Wondering if I should be kicking myself harder!

I’ve got one of the Liberty models in 250 Savage. Pretty sweet little rifle.

I recall he sold his last one a few years ago here on the Campfire, IIRC.

Good rifles, I have a M77 varminter in 243 from 1979. If he is a really good friend, I'd meet him in the middle. When he hands you the 8 I would peal him off 2 and hand them back to him. Then again, I would never sell a tang safety M77 in 220 Swift.
