This is the campfire. NO ONE uses theirs as hard as I use mine.

I don't have to go to town. I go about 1/2 mile east to the gas station for my beer. HARD CORE, I am.

The Pagoda Chinese Restaurant run is a tough haul in a UTV.

Ok you got us, hauling dead hookers to your sacred hooker burial grounds is tough duty

I hunted moose off mine once, just to see WTF since 9/10 hunters seem to do it too. Holy shït was that a learning experience, and something I likely won't do again.

Miller Lite fueled grouse hunts and trips to the strip joint........hells ya. Polaris Ranger to the rescue...

I don't really even know why I bought it. I just don't use it for much else.

I have always had good luck with Honda motorcycles and 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers so I got a Honda Pioneer 500 .
It’s less than 50 inches wide and 105 inches long.
About a 1,000 pounds, far less weight than most sxs
Has an auto shift knob on the dash if you want an auto transmission or you turn the knob to the other position and use the Paddles on both sides of the steering wheel to manually shift it.

Like the concept and the machine so far but haven’t had it long.

Put a cheap Open Trail brand hdpe hard top on it for shade Mainly and going to put a good set of 27 inch mud tires on my stock rims along with a Winch

Retail on the Pioneer 500 is about $8,500
The 700 for the base model is about $11,500
And the 1000 base model goes for about $15,500

I liked the size and price of the 500 for my uses

I can't see anything that would fit the way I use one better than the Pioneer 500. I'm still using a Foreman but it would be easier to put 4 bales on a Pioneer than the Foreman. Top and windshield would be nice in winter rain while putting hay out.

"food plot work" may be the kicker, I wouldn't dare try to pull a plow/disc with one. Seen too many pics of hitches breaking on various makes. Leave that work for a tractor.

I have a Pioneer 700-4 and its been great.

I also have a Viking I have to look at the mileage but somewhere around 500 hours no issues at all. Not the fanciest but Rock Solid. Have a winter cab used it year a round. Anywhere from once a day to all day. It gets more hours than miles because we do not run up and down the road for fun or Trails or beer runs. It carries feed, sprayers, firewood , fencing materials, it works. The full-time locked up rear axle is the biggest minus in some cases also a big Plus in some cases depends on exactly what you're doing. I went this route my brother-in-law had a old Yamaha Rhino he could destroy any kind of mechanical machine that thing's still run somehow. The Viking is kind of an updated newer version of the rhino.

No plows or discs as I use no-till methods. Mostly hauling lime and fertilizer bags and a sprayer.

Different needs for different folks and uses.

I need a powerful rig that tows and hauls a lot of weight.

Some folks want a rig to have a cushy ride and drive 70mph.

Some don't know what they want, or why they want it... grin

I've had a Kawasaki Teryx since 2014.

Great, reliable machine.

When I see the size and cost of most of these things I am glad I just stuck with a old jeep cj5

Tikkanut must be out enjoying his Kawasaki Teryx as he hasn't chimed in yet.
Looking forward to the pics though.

Good points. I liked the Honda Pioneer 1000-5seater concept a lot, and I like Honda in general. But when I got in one and pictured putting my family in there with our gear, it was a no-go. My SxS needs entailed more cargo room and didn't require as much go-fast capability. Looking at the big crew-cab Polaris and Can-Am rigs, they were simply too long and cumbersome. That's primarily what pushed me to the FXT Mule, the room is there when you need it, while still being on a fairly moderate wheelbase. If I was single guy, I'd probably have just bought a single-bench Pioneer 1000 from Honda. The power steering option is a must-have, regardless of model.

But as large as the 1000 is along with over 4 seat models....might as well just have a 4x4 farm truck. You can exactly take the larger ones out on a trail anyway, better be a wide trail.
