Buddy just got a new Springfield Ronin and wanted to lighten the trigger? I wasn't sure if the trigger is adjustable or if he could "break" it in over time? I mentioned a spring kit may help the trigger pull? What do you recommend?

Triggers are not adjustable ( like on a boltgun) in a 1911, but a good 1911 smith can smooth up hammer/sear interface to make them quite wonderful. The screw in the trigger is for overtravel, and it can cause headaches if overdone, hence my comment about a GOOD 1911 smith. They will smooth out somewhat over a gazillion rounds, but who's got the money for that, these days?
When I was shooting USPSA competition, I had my smith set my pull at 3.25 lbs., but my other guns were set at 4lbs, which is probably better for most folks
Wilson does sell a spring kit with five springs, which supposedly does a little to lighten the load, but I've never used it. All five springs have to be installed for it to work right, as balancing springs is part of the job. I'd recommend a smith do the work, if he's not really familiar with the 1911s.

Tell him to put 500-1,000 rounds through it before doing anything with the trigger. And itโs a gunsmith job to do one right, and not all gunsmiths are even capable of that. If Springfield still has their custom shop they would be a good warranty preserving choice. If it is truly worse than it should be it will likely be a warranty job.

Ill let him know. He let me fondle it for a couple minutes. I tried the trigger (guessing) 5lbs, breaks nicely. Seems like a solid 1911 and slide feels like its all steel? Hes not a match shooter. I tried to get him to buy a cz or hk USP, but he chose the Ronin.

The 5" Ronins have steel frames, the 4,25" guns have aluminum frames. All of them have steel slides.

It is a full size model and has some heft to it. At least compared to a Glock.

I've got 300 rounds through mine and trigger is smoothing up nicely, really like this 1911. Accurate, slick and fit up well. Got some new leather for this week, Rosen 5JR, great holster.

Cock the hammer back, drop a few drops of slick light oil down the lower front of hammer, just a couple drops each side. Thinking it will reach the hammer hooks & sear.
No assembly required.
Lots of times a1/2 # pull reduction right there. Sometimes not.
