Does your shotgun have the old spring stop in the magazine or the new style? The old type is easier to add the magazine extension. The new type has a dimple in the magazine tube that has to be pushed back out and there's a tool for it. Old style new style

On my Remington 870 I have ran Nordic Components and Remington factory extensions so far. I have read good things about the Scattergun Technologies ones. I am using the Remington factory one now. Steel versus aluminum is one big factor for most people. Also whether it is one piece or two can matter. I like the two piece extensions along with a barrel clamp. The clamp can wear marks on a barrel but add a lot of rigidity to the overall set up. My only real advise is to function test your extension repeatedly after installation to be sure everything is working properly. Best of luck!

I have used Choates for forty years, with no problems, in 7, 8, 10, and 12 round versions, on 870s and1100s.
