I am trying to get membership into a really nice gun club. 6 USPSA pistol ranges with steel gongs, a Texas star, a 1200 yd rifle range and a 550 yd range. Has a 100 yd .22/handgun range with 40 plus permanent steel gongs at different distances, and the 200 yd "plinker range" that has 6 benches. I have shot a number of "open to the public" matches at this club for 18 years. I am about 100 people deep on the wait list. They admit 5 new members a month. NRA membership, which I gave up years ago, is required to join.

Does your club require NRA membership?

Edit: I didn't join earlier as life was in the way. I am now retired.

My gun club does not.

It is getting a new handmade shooting bench next week though...

My gun club does require you be proficient enough with firearms to even use the range though. wink

Invitation only. grin

Ours require it, and checks it. I think some of it is due to insurance and a portion to hold competition.

Not a big fan of the NRA and Wayne LaPierre and the bloat at the top. I support NSSF and local and state politicians that are aligned with my rights. More effective.

Nope
But if you take certain training classes or want your competition scores certified you need to join.

I’m a lifetime NRA member from back before I realized how poorly run the organization is and the corruption at the top. I think all of the local ranges in my area require NRA membership. I belong to two one requires my NRA member number and the other just ask and has you check off a box. If I were required to sign up for an NRA membership I’d ask if I could substitute membership with a GOA or 2nd Amendment Foundation membership. If you’re not already a member of one or both of those organizations you really should be.

Yes, it does, and you have to submit proof annually of your NRA membership. I'm cool with it.

Ours requires NRA membership but it's included in our dues.

We changed ours this year from requiring NRA to requiring a state carry license.

Mine too, I will not be renewing w/ either. Membership is not required for matches, just another $5.00 to enter. We have lots of desert and targets are cheap. Phug the NRA.

Sometimes it’s tied to range insurance. And they will typically have you send in proof of membership every year.

No. Went to the range today. Every shooter was cool. No need to slap anybody with a 911.

Learned that copper flies higher than lead.
