Hello,
I was also offered this NIKON Monarch Japan made. Ret N° 4, with 30 mm tube diameter. I like VERY MUCH its general configuration. Do you have any experience with this scope?
Thank you very much!

Don't have the scope you mention, but have an older Nikon 2-7x32 Monarch, from about 2003. A fine scope most ways, but in hind sight, do not like the fat ocular bell. For this reason wish I had bought a Leupold VX-2 2-7x33, or whatever that level was called then.

A guy I know tests large bore rifles for a bullet company, and he LOVES that scope. He goes thru scopes like crazy....they can't take the recoil forces he loads to. The Nikons hold up better than all others.

My son and I each have one. My son bought his after using my deer rifle. Great optics. Solid construction. Not sure if Nikon will service them if necessary. Last time I contacted Nikon they had two service centers. One on the East Coast and one on the West Coast. Scopes had to be sent to the West Coast facility for repair.

If you like it and the price is right, buy it, keeping in mind that it’s a dead end: no repairs, etc. With all the other choices available, I’d look elsewhere, but I know how it is when you get an itch.
I would expect a lower price because of the lack of available service. IIRC, if you send it in broke you get a coupon good for Nikon optics. How about a nice golf rangefinder?
What fresh Hell is this?

Thank you all guys!
I am going to buy it! As Biebs said, I also have various reports about the high end NIKON riflescopes as one of the strongest made modern ones! For my uses, the 1,5-6x42 is the one I preffer over all other variables. I like it as much as my 4x ones...I have a Zeiss Victory and a Kahles Helia C 1,5-6x42 scopes (like the Kahles more than the Victory, by the way). Will see how the Nikon compares with them. All, including the Nikon, have Nº 4 reticles.
Thank you again!

I have no experience with the Nikon scopes. Though, I would assume that particular model would be a reliable scope. I share your appreciation for the Kahles Helia C, 1.5-6x42mm. I have the Zeiss Victory 1.5-6x42mm also. The Helia C are definitely one of my favorite scopes. I have the 2.5-10x50, 1.5-6x42, and 1.1-4x24. Thank you all guys!

Hello Idmay,
You have my, also, three favorites Helia C models!!!! To me, this Kahles serie C are one of the best designed, and made, hunting scopes, indeed. I am after, not found yet, one Kahles Helia C 4x36.....
Best regards!

I know all eyes differ / personal preference/ etc. But, to me those are Very good scopes. I wish I could have gotten more 1.5-6x42’s and 1.1x4x24’s. I have, and still do use them on AR-15’s through 416’s. The Kahles Helia C 1.1-4x24mm, opened by eyes to what I consider very good glass in a scope, and what a well designed 1st focal plane reticle is.

1.5-6x40ish scopes are my favorites for under 300 yards on coyotes, I believe I have 6 by various makers.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

They are very useful scopes, in my opinion.
