The Boys are playing the Straights this week for the Ryder Cup. I've played that course a few times. If the wind comes up, she's going to have some bite. I played there once in a 40 knot south wind roaring up Lake Michigan. We played the middle tees. With the wind howling at my back I actually drove 13. 360 yards, downwind, downhill, with a power fade...and 3 putted. Bruh. Coming back into the wind on par 3 17, which is like 192 yards, I took driver, twice. Ballooned both into the drink. Couldn't even make half the distance I did on 13. Ended up taking a drop. Made 7. Popped into triple digits for the round. Nevertheless, It's a great course.
goalie, props to a guy who's still playing in the fall. No Havershams to slow you down..."that's a peach, Hon", clean cut on the 'gar, and clear skies. Can't ask for better.

Whistling Straights is a great course to play once or twice if you're able just to have played it. The average (or worse) guy really doesn't have any business being out there - and when the wind gets bad forget about it. I say this as an incredibly average golfer.

That’s not a bad score. You’re obviously not Elklayer but you are getting better 😂. I didn't even bring my driver. Hit 7w or hybrid off the tee, and was on with the wedges and putting. Straight really is long.

And I imagine you're one of those soy boys who has to have the latest metal driver (CHEAT STICK), because you just simply aren't man enough to swing a persimmon fast enough to roll it out over 300 off the drive. How's that 13 degree puzzy driver working out for you, to help you get the ball airborne, so you hopefully get your 225 yard monster drive from the lady's box close enough for an approach in reg?

I'm a legit 6 handicap with a PGA card to prove it, and I can't drive it 300 yds down the middle of a flat fairway. I've driven the ball over 300 yards many times, but downhill or helping wind...once a asphalt cart path helped me substantially lol
