Blank screen. No picture. Sound is fine. 12 yr old LED Sharp. Did all the trouble shooting, disconnect power, disconnected everything, hard reset, etc. No dice. Can see a faint screen on display when angling a flashlight on display. I guess this is an LED backlight malfunction. Time for a new TV ? I guess I will make a run to our local Walmart. Looking for a 50 or 55”. Any suggestions?

I hear ya! I like the silence too but the Womenfolk here would shoot me if I don’t run out and pick up a new set. Thanks for the suggestions on brands.

GA-
Do you watch sports or action movies? If so, refresh rate is a kind of a big deal. (120Hz vs 60Hz)

I'm not a TV guy but we recently did upgrade to one of the latest and greatest smart TV's. This one is an OLED version. Researched and found that LG appeared to be in the current lead over Samsung and Sony. So I bought one of the highest rated LG's. It is badass, amazing picture. Model is LG OLED65C1PUB And I now see that the price on the damn thing is $300 cheaper than when I ordered two weeks ago, WTF?! https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-65-...d-smart-webos-tv/6453312.p?skuId=6453312

I bought a Samsung a few years ago that did the same thing as yours 2 weeks after the warranty was out. Took it to a repair shop and he said he got no help from the factory on how to repair it. I asked him what was the best brand and he said they were all good until they break. I bought a LG and it has been trouble free so far.

Can't help ya on TV brands but enjoy the silence. I haven't had TV in 27 years, doubt I will ever again, and miss it not much. The golden rule has always been, who has the gold makes the rules. The stations don't see it that way it seems, they only offer hundreds of crap stations. Let me pick 10-15 stations that I want or GFYS media.

You should get it back.

I should clarify that I didn't buy the TV from Bestbuy, I just used that link because it popped up first when I searched the TV.
All retailers have dropped the price buy $330.
Mostly glad the woman and I didn't break the fuucker when we screwed it on the wall mount. Awkward and slightly heavy piece...
