So you're saying the current players are less that 9 years old?

Agreed. Pedophile State University should have been banned from playing college football. It's called punishing the school there Mach3, which IMO is a well earned punishment.

That would be like if your wife stole something from the grocery store, and then your whole family is banned from going to grocery stores forever. That's stupid.

It's one thing to have a difference of opinion with the officials about whether or not there was enough contact to call pass interference or if the foot was out of bounds. But yesterday there were some massive officiating screw ups of basic operating procedures.

Minnesota vs Colorado: Minnesota in Colorado territory with 1:05 remaining in the second half. Minnesota completes a pass to the 17, but there is a penalty for illegal receiver downfield, so they get the ball moved 5 yards back from the original line of scrimmage, same down again. BUT the officials forgot to stop the clock because of the penalty and the clock runs out on the next play.

Penn State vs Auburn: Officials lose count of the downs, can't figure it out even with replay, force Penn State to punt on what should have been 3rd down.

There were others. Was there something in the water?

Speaking of officiating, I hate the targeting rule. I can see protecting a person while going up for a pass, of the defenseless quarterback, but when they turn into a runner, they should be no more protected than and running back going through the line. Most defense players ejected are done so with the runner also lowering His head, to initiate a head on collision. If you are going to throw one out, throw them both out. You would hear a mighty uproar when teams start losing prize receivers and running backs. What say you. miles

Completely agree. They need to get rid of the targeting rule. If it's blatantly obvious that a defender is trying to hurt someone, call it unnecessary roughness and leave it at that. 15 yards, auto first down. Multiple times then maybe and ejection.

Well, both of you are right...... that's what's published. However, I think the folks at MSN must be high on something. They even got LSU at #16.

MSN poll has the same number several times. 4,14, 15, 16, 17, and 18

Yea, they are retarded. I usually check AP News first thing on Monday morning. I use their source since it's the AP poll.

One of the interesting aspects for me is teams who start out with issues are able to correct them at some point in the season. Aggy for instance has a green backup QB and same for some of their OL. OU's defense has talent and plays well for portions of the game but are inconsistent. Same can be said for their QB. They typically will iron out those kinds of wrinkles when they have them by the time the RRS game arrives. Do or die kind of deal, hahaha. But it's not a given.

Just some random pickings, but the notion that teams can get better or worse (injuries?) as the season progresses is an aspect I pay attention to. Sometimes it's better for a team to catch an opponent earlier in the season than later.
