Does anyone know if Leupold warranty will cover a fire damage scope it’s a straight 12 power, their website says that it doesn’t cover any accident, never had to deal with this before for a friend, thanks
Kinda like dragging your 6 month old Dodge truck back to the dealer after it went through a house fire and asking them to cover it............... IMHO.

I would for sure ask at least. I think vortex does.
I remember reading some years back when a guy had a house fire and lost everything including guns and scopes. He contacted leupold and they ended up replacing 12 scopes but don't know the details involved as to whether he had to send what he could find of them or not.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do. I've sent in several scopes with weird damage and they never question anything. Give them a call! Wait times are short if nonexistent, and they're really helpful. Be worth checking. They just warrantied an ancient M8 10x for me that was beat to hell by a previous owner, not a question asked aside from "what replacement scope do you want? Take your pick"
never hurts to ask! I had a St Croix rod that I busted the top part off while pushing through brush at the edge of a creek. Sent it back, told them what happened, acknowledged my mistake and asked if they could fix it. Several days later a brand new rod shows up at my house. ......the occasional hunter wielding a hopelessly inaccurate rifle, living by the fantastical rule that this cartridge can deliver the goods, regardless of shot placement or rifle accuracy. The correct term for this is minute of ego.

My Leupold fell off roof of car and bounced down the highway. I sent it to Leuopold and they told me it was not fixable. But they offered a large discount off MSRP to purchase a comparable model. So even though if not covered by warranty, likely to be able to get a new comparable Leuopold for great price.
I call Leupold and got the answering service that says to go to the website & fill out the form, it isn’t mine and I said that I would check it out and see what his options are, the vortex ones, Vortex dealer said bring it in & they would send it in for me, yea still going to check with the insurance company but he had guns to & they only cover so much, & checking with the nra too Thanks I will keep you posted.
year ago had a fellow bring in a leupold scope to sell me, he put his rifle on the roof of the car and forgot to take it off, rifle came off the roof of his car and slide down the road. the scope was a leupold 4x12, I asked what he wanted for it and he stated $25. gave him the $25 and sent it in to leupold, 3 weeks late arrived a new 4x12
