Pike County has a lot of big bears. I have been hunting there for over 30 years and have seen some real big ones. A few years ago they trapped a bunch in the area I hunt and relocated them. There was just many in that area.
Bear are a problem darn near everywhere.
The "solution" is to move them.
Talk to a decent warden (if you can find one).
He will tell you he catches nuisance bears, and hauls them
to a remote area(usually game lands) a long way off.
What he may or may not tell you, is the warden where he drops them
also has to catch nuisance bears. And he hauls them a long way off.
There are numerous big game lands around here, and ive had
a warden tell me of pulling a trapped bear down the road, to get rid of it.
And passing another warden bringing one to him!
It's just a swap.
