I made friends with a woman that does title and other service for people buying and selling vehicles... she has 5 trucks for sale that appear to be in fairly good condition with around 200.000 miles,, most are in $9000 range and are 10 to 20 years old .. I think one of them would be my best bet for a useable one for me, I will be trying them out this afternoon....will let you know if I get one.. Let us know your DL # If it saves just one life , Hubie Stop calling me Hubie,,, that is not my name you idiot. Easy now, buddy, it's just an internet forum and nobody here can hurt you. I am curious though, what exactly does a woman who "does title and other service for people buying and selling vehicles" do?

Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

I can get this that and the other vehicles for 10k. When they are buying for 6 k. Let me do all the work for you. Do you have cash or a cashiers check??

Separate fools from their money. That was a given from the onset.

Nice older ones are out there. Guys drop over every day like Uncle Jim with his 2007 with less than 40K miles on it. Unless that is a 2007 Chevy with the 5.3. You don't want that evil on you, Ricky Bobby! Or any Chevy. Just stay away from Chevy

Hubert: I have RENEWED my efforts to "baby" and make last til the end of my days, my one owner 1996 Dodge Cummins Diesel 4x4 extended cab five speed with 120,000 original miles on it. Just HEARING the current prices of new (and used!) pickup trucks makes me shudder with trepidation. I shake my head at the current status of fuel prices, vehicle prices, inflation, shortages and our economy as a whole. Good luck in your quest. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I ordered a new F150 months ago and it's been delayed 5 different times. It's build date was 8/9 but I'm guessing it's been parked somewhere waiting for chips. The system just finally moved it from in production to build and preparing to ship. Hopefully I'll have it soon. The kids are tired of me taking them to school in my old 94 2 door yukon I usually just hunt in. Those rear seat belts in the older vehicles weren't made to actually be used.Bb Just curious. Did you get a price below MSRP? Yes, I got it at invoice minus $3000 in rebates and minus another $500 farm bureau insurance discount. MSRP was a little over $62,000 and I'm paying $55,000. The ones on the lot are MSRP or above. I had to go to Soda springs to find a dealer that would give me invoice on an order. Plus that dealership offers a lifetime warranty on every new vehicle. I already traded in my 2019 ram so I could lock in one of the rebates that was going at the time for $2000 trade In rebate. They sold it the first week. They gave me $48,000 for it which was paid off so I just had to pay $7,000. Bb

Went buying a used car for the daughter and it was a circus too. Wanted something fairly new that didn’t have over 100K miles on it around $15K. 8 dealerships later we found something, 2019 Nissan Versa with 41K.
Chevy dealer tried to add another $1K to the price when they seen we were interested in a car and we walked away. Called back the next day trying to get us back by knocking $2K off the price. I told them I wouldn’t step on their lot again.
There are reasons I like dealing with Toyota, I’ve never been jerked around by the salesman or the prices. Wanted a Toyota this time but they only had 2 used cars (2020 Avalons) on the lot and 2 new Highlanders. Pitiful out there right now. Friend your car buying experience was as big a big-top "circus" as you made it to be. According to NADA, 97% of consumers start their car buying journey online. On average, they visit 2 dealerships before purchasing. Only 14% of a shoppers' time, less than 3 hours, is actually spent inside a dealership. If you went to 8 dealerships, you visited 4x more the number of dealerships than average. Hmm. To your second paragraph, I find it unlikely a Chevy dealer would "add another $1K to the price when they seen we were interested in a car." Now there may be some reasoning, such as you asked for an extended warranty and special financing through GM's captive lender, Ally. In order to do so, the dealer must certify that vehicle following a rigorous and costly process outlined under GM's CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) program, e.g., brake pads must be within certain tolerances, tire tread depth must meet specs, even wiper blades, etc., etc. Once that 150 point check is complete, at $125 bucks an hour (or more), plus repair costs, the dealer then must pay GM a CPO fee, ~$500 bucks. So, a $1,000 uptick to add GM Certification is a smoking good deal, FYI. I don't know, I wasn't there, but I bet if I called that general manager or sales manager, they'd have another side to the story. Lastly, you've never dealt with "Toyota." Toyota is a manufacturer which doesn't sell direct to consumers, rather they rely on independently owned and operated dealer franchises (just like GM). Statistically, your Toyota "salesman" is just as likely to have been selling Chevys last week, as he is to be selling Fords next week. And the store's owner, or dealer principal, is just as likely to own a Chevy store too. If he does, his sales people likely cross-sell between brands. Sorry, friend, Toyota stores don't have a monopoly on excellent customer service.

While the car business has a well deserved reputation for fast talking film flam artists willing to screw people over - not every dealer matches that description. Finding a good local dealer expecting they need to make a profit doesn’t have to be awful. Grandfather & Father in law were dealers with drastically different styles. One sold new cars traditionally the other bought at auction bidding low & turning them around in days. The auction cars made him lots of money most of the time. I’ve had the best luck buying from friends- “let me know when you are getting rid of that truck” has worked well for me.

Bought a 2004 Ranger 4x4 from a family friend. Paid $8,000 at 57,000 miles. Has 72,000 now. New tires and he left the stereo in but took the amp and some large speakers. I guess you have to be at the place and time. The pickup took me to Texas from the state of Misery to kill hogs and back. Decent on gas and I don't haul a large trailer. Keep watching and something will come up. When it does jump on it. Or someone else will. Be Well, RZ.

Ordered a new 2022 truck last week Hubert but I’m not a broke dick trying to nickel and dime my way to a new truck.
The new truck out the door was 94k but good thing I have a great low mileage (82k) 9 year old F350 Lariat to trade in that will drop that price to around 47k out the door on my new loaded Ford Diesel. Hell I should just sell my old truck locally and buy a beater to tide me over for a few months until the new ride arrives.
Of course with your health and driving proclivities I wouldnt spend good money on a reliable new truck either if I was you. You clearly have had several health issues and one caused you to recently total a truck and your aching to get another rig. We can all see that you don’t care about your own health and life but your willingness to endanger others on the road speaks volumes about you.

I stopped shopping for vehicles in dealerships 12 years ago. Only online. I don't step foot into a dealership until the price is agreed upon and then I hand them a check, do a little paperwork and walk out.
