Some of the guys on Coyote Gods (defunct coyote hunting website) said they were going here from Shooters.com

This place got me hooked on Savage 99’s

I try to stay away from that forum. That's a hobby I don't need! lol

Hey Rooster,
It's what brought me here. Come over and sit a spell.

I was having a reloading problem and looking for a forum where someone might help me. Stumbled on this place, asked my question, and 5 or 6 members helped me right away. Decided to check the place out a little more and hung around.

I was praying for divine guidance and heavenly angels swept down and showed me the way here.

I don’t remember what brought me here anymore a search for something or other no doubt. I had an account at least 10 years ago screen name Mittenman that I occasionally posted under I lost the passcode to it and the never used email account that was linked to it so after a year or so of reading threads I made a new account so I could start posting again.

The lack of moderators filtering what I can say or what others say has been the single biggest factor in keeping me around.

Too funny - 2nd post, same exact answer for myself. I was always active on an ice fishing forum that has a large devoted following in my area, and I frequented the S&W forums for awhile as I am a fan of the revolvers. Bought my first savage 99 and had some questions; the folks on the S&W forum were quick to point me here. First, I laughed. Then I cried. Then I shat my pants. I only ever visit the ice fishing forum anymore. And that, sparsely. It’s too moderated. This is my kinda joint.

I was looking for some scope reviews. Don't remember for which scope, exactly. Either way, lurked for months, maybe years, 'fore signing up.

Anymore the Optics forum is just a dumpster fire.

I believe that was the forum I came from also, I just remember the forum I frequented was going away and I ended up here in 2004

What shaman and a few others noted. Shooters was going to hell and many of us left there for here. But don't blame me for bringing Big Stick along in that migration.

This site was virtually empty, except for Rick and his dad (CritrGetter or some handle like that). Another member, Echo4Echo, later E4E, and I started encouraging folks to register here. You'll see a lot of folks joined here in January and February of 2001. That was the core group that made "the exodus" and stayed here.

I've been here ever since.

Ditto. I’ve reminded Rick of that when he got all high and mighty with someone promoting other websites. To his credit, he took that reminder like a man.

I hung around AT for a bit. I spent a lot of time on HPA (HuntingPA) and found this thru that forum. The lack of moderation is what brought me here. Then HPA changed their layout so with the freedom here and the fact that I liked the setup I gave up there and came here. Mucho better
