How shall I show my support for these wronged Indigenous peoples on this special day? We are still vacationing around some Indian reservations. What with winter coming I think we will celebrate today by handing out some free blankets.

Aaannd, For the old guys in the west...Columbus day in 1962, the BIG Blow, recorded winds in Wash, Oregon and Northern Calif broke all records. A broken anemometer with one arm missing recorded 145 mph winds at Cape Blanco Oregon...179 mph at Gold Beach Oregon airport. 46 dead. Power and highways lost for weeks. No looting.

They should make it "Reservation Cleanup Day" and pick up all the trash they throw on the landscape and in their yards. At least on the Reservations in AZ. Talk about respecting the land. . Well, start small anyway. When Obongo visited Kotzebue, the street from airport to school was cleaned up, as was the street 2 blocks over for his return to the airport. Don't want to rush into these things.

One guy I worked with caught over 2000# of salmon over a weekend doing it. “Those fish are belonging to us, it’s our way of life”. Along with the massive drug and alcohol usage on the rez. AND up there, they don’t pay any taxes! But they sure get all the bennies.
