Tesla put out a little video about their crash test facility and how they work on the safety of their cars in collisions.
The program utilizes the data from sensors on all Tesla’s on the road (over one million now), collects the data from those which have crashed, and produces an algorithm that sets the timing and sequence for firing the airbags and seat belt tension based on the type of crash detected by the sensors of the car when it is involved in a crash.
I suppose they collect this data while you’re driving at car every day?

Yes, including the sensor that are involved with their self driving efforts, the sensors that detect seat position, hand poisition on the wheel, etc. Tesla cars have a little "black box" that collects that stuff, and is available for use in accident investigations. I'm not sure if any of that is available "real time".

Sounds a bit, well, "big brother-ish", doesn't it. The whole OTA (over the air) updates thing is discomforting for those of us who don't even do ICloud........
