I've been hunting in SW Virginia, Carroll Co. Lots of leaves changing/falling there. Squirrels are busy!

One of the little red orb-weavers bit me on the forearm when I walked into its web while walking the dog. Itched for a bit. It was only a half-incher, with a white triangle on it.

You ever put one of those BRSs next to a tree? With those scales, they can go up pretty quick.

Weather and altitude trump latitude. We’re only about 500-600 feet here, and haven't been below 45, if that.

Yes, indeed. I've also seen them climb brick walls, fitting those belly scales into the mortar grooves.

We're at about 45 feet and have been touching the 80s the last few days. Today is the first time the sun has been out all week. I'll be heading out toward Rocky Mount and Roanoke tomorrow. Will be interesting to see the changes from here.

I'm 30 miles west of ROA and about 1,000 ft higher altitude.
Friday will be pretty warm there.
Supposed to hit lower 40's Sat night/Sunday morn.
We've had one hit/miss frost so far a couple of weeks back.
