Remington Mountain Rifle 7x57. Hinged floor plate bottom metal, Leupold rings/base. Comes with Remington synthetic mountain rifle stock and Remington walnut stock (not mountain rifle style stock), Leupold VX II 3-9x50 gloss. Very nice setup. Only reason I’m selling is my father is selling a couple of rifles that I want so I can keep them in the family.

Date code: CJ (April 1989)

$1150.00 without Leupold scope.
$1400.00 with Leupold scope.

Buyer covers shipping to FFL.
Pm if interested.
I have other pics if interested.

22” as I believe all mountain rifle barrels are that length.

A mountain rifle should have a black forend cap. Does yours?

Maybe I didn’t explain properly. The synthetic mountain rifle stock comes with it but is not on rifle. The Remington walnut stock is. This stock does not have the black cap. See above pics of rifle current setup.

That’s why I asked about it.

This is a factory mountain rifle other than the walnut stock. I bought this from Mull on here not to long ago. If you look at pics you will not be disappointed.
Here is the mountain stock.

Not to cause confusion, but that looks like an aftermarket stock. It's definitely not the factory mnt rifle stock it would have come in.
Referring to the wood one.

I agree. The factory stock would have been checkered walnut with a black cap.

Mountain rifles could come with a synthetic stock.. I have two of them. I confirmed from Remington that the synthetic was indeed how it left factory… Early 90’s models

Yes you are making it confusing. The walnut stock is a factory Remington stock but not the mountain model. I bought it with the synthetic mountain stock, wanted a factory walnut stock for it so I bought this stock for it new and added it.

Blued, synthetic, mnt rifle?
I have a stainless, synthetic mnt rifle in .280 from about '94. Didn't know they put the blued in synthetic.
Thanks

Mtn rifle BA with two stocks, one a factory poly and the other, something else that is uncheckered, in a rare chambering, in excellent condition.

Bump

Miss those jeweled bolt bodies.

Mountain Rifle love long time.

Same here. Ive seen and owned blue/wood, and have seen numerous STS/Synthetics in a proprietary B&C stock.....but this one I'm unfamiliar with.

First cataloged 7x57 MR was in 1990 (wood with traditional capped forend), and the first cataloged tupperware I am aware of (not as/fs/rs/ks) was the 1992 ss/synthetic adl with MR contour.

Like I said when I bought it, it came in the synthetic stock. I’m sure it was originally in a walnut mountain stock with black cap and checkered, but that was prior to me owning it. Which is why I bought a nice Remington factory walnut stock to put it back into wood.

Regardless it’s a fantastic rifle.

Agreed. Looks great as you have it!
