Was able to fill an antlerless tag with my longbow. 110 lb doe (clean dressed) 2 antlerless and a buck tag left. The warm start of the season was slow. Starting to cool down and action picking up here in VT.
How’s everyone doing so far?

Sounds like a nice sized doe.
Thinking of finally getting out maybe Monday or Tuesday now that it's finally getting cooler in the northeast.

Saw a button and a doe w doe fawn this morning At least you’re seeing deer. Here it’s hit of miss. Can easily go days or weeks without seeing any!

Shot a doe with my Boomer-Cheater xbow on the 25th. Two hours in the tree, first one in the dark. If I could cock that thing aloft, coulda had another, as the others just stood around, then walked past me at about 15 yards. Waiting for it to cool down before I go back. Getting close to the rut, I think. Still have two tags, and my Earn-a-Buck ticket is punched for the year.
What fresh Hell is this?

With a longbow. Congrats, that’s a big accomplished! Thanks! My shot distances are short here, under 25 yards it’s not much of a handicap. After that, I won’t even try.
