Yes you are making it confusing. The walnut stock is a factory Remington stock but not the mountain model. I bought it with the synthetic mountain stock, wanted a factory walnut stock for it so I bought this stock for it new and added it.
Date code : CJ April 1989 What rifle did Remington use this “factory” stock on ?

Yes you are making it confusing. The walnut stock is a factory Remington stock but not the mountain model. I bought it with the synthetic mountain stock, wanted a factory walnut stock for it so I bought this stock for it new and added it.
Date code : CJ April 1989 What rifle did Remington use this “factory” stock on ? He said he did not know. If you want one of these with the original stock then go to GB, but it will cost double what this one is listed for LOL!.

Some useless trivia. One of the wholesalers... maybe Jerry's Sports Center had a limited run of walnut & blued 7x57 Mtn Rifles the year before Remington made it a standard chambering. Definitely not useless; helps explain the barrel code! The one that sits in my safe has a KJ barrel code.

Possibly sporter, just enough room to naturally float the barrel without the need to opening the barrel channel. Thanks for the pictures showing the float. LOL

This listing is looking better every view. It's a square deal for the parts offered at an appropriate premium for the 7x57 barrel. That's never been questioned.
