As accurately as can be determined relation of a true event; the last trial by combat in France. A wife accuses a guy of rape.
Actually a pretty good movie, well acted, excellent portrayal of life in the Middle Ages. Told in three parts, the viewpoint of her husband, the viewpoint of the accused and the viewpoint of the woman.
It’s all very well done, but sort of a relief when they finally get around to the duel. Like UFC but with horses, armor and swords, axes and lances.
Spoiler alert; all the men are jerks, but heck, back then, they might have been 🙂

Ya, you feel like you actually get to meet the people who actually lived back then in all those castles over in Europe, most of which are in ruins now.

Another plug for this really good movie, I told some History Teacher friends about this movie and they invited me to go see it with them.
I dunno how this movie is doing at the box office but it’s destined to be a classic. It’s one of those movies one could watch several times over.
I got to see the final duel over again, a very well choreographed action piece between guys clad in accurately reproduced armor.
Ridley Scott set out to make a serious movie, and he did.
Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

Saw, it. Kinda like "Dances with Wolves". You could cut a third of the footage out of that yawner and throw it on the cutting room floor and nobody would ever miss it.
It was worth seeing, but a thorough bore through several parts.
Any movie would be more realistic and much better if they would quit using women in any role that doesn’t fit or add anything to the movie but a leading lady.
Women don’t belong in good movies.
