Sighting my 760 Carbine in tomorrow. 1.5x Burris FF.
Older 180 grain Corelokt RN bullets, H-414 for powder.
Hope to kill a couple pigs with it this weekend.

[quote=ldmay375] I have always thought the 760/7600 types were handy rifles. A few months ago, I ran across a Model Six, 30-06, in Very good condition. I could not pass it up. By the date code, it appears to be 2nd month / 2nd year of production. I have not shot it yet, and will be quite sometime before I do. A shoulder issue, but look forward to shooting it. I agree, very easy carrying rifle. ------------------------------------- Id I have a Model Six 30-06 and have killed WT with it. In 2016 I posted these bucks IN THIS THREAD. I'll also be hunting this rifle this season as well. It ain't going no where! Good Luck Jerry

Shot a few loads through mine today. 180 grain sierra roundnose bullets, 4895 and w760 powders. Very tight groups. I'm impressed with this rifle. 308 BTw.

WOW !!!! And I thought I paid way to much for my 760 Carbine in .308. 760 Carbine in .308 on GBAnd 9 days left to go, final price should be interesting, current price is already interesting.

Last week I acquired this unfired BPR in .243 Win. I have mounts and rings on order, and I should have time to work through some loads before firearms deer opens up. The pump action is a bit unorthodox, but I doubt it will take much to get used to. We'll see how it shoots compared to my 7600's.

I don’t think you see many of them because they’re strange and a bit awkward to operate at first. But after a few mags full you get the hang of it. I’ve shot a 30-06 and a .300 WM. They shot pretty well.

What is the preferred scope for a pump rifle? Same as anything you would use on a comparable bolt action. Right now I have a straight tube 1.5x Burris FF on my carbine. There is a Swift 1.5-4x that will probably end up on it. I have used 3-9x in both 32 and 40mm on them. Ex FIL had a 1.75-5x Redfield on his, dandy little scope.

What is the preferred scope for a pump rifle? I have a 4x on my 7600 and a 2.5x8 on my 760. I had a 1x4 Leupy and a 1.75x5 Burris on the 7600 for a while
