Just watched it on pay per view. Good movie. My wife even liked it and she hates Western movies.

I watched it on Prime, I did not see the twist coming. good movie. Same here - didn't see that ending coming. That kid of his was annoying as [bleep]. Eh, well worth $5.99 for an evening's entertainment.

I watched it tonight too. It was pretty good. The gun play was pretty good. I only had two gripes. I do believe that was an angle eject 94 and I don’t think they ever made a SAA 1873 with a brass trigger frame. Well, and I’m pretty sure Trace Adkins was using a Winchester Model 12 in 1906.
Those little details are annoying and very easy to avoid with minimal effort. Give Adkins a 97 instead of a 12. Get rid of the brass framed pistol. And spend $1,200 on a Uberti 1873 Winchester like the one in the famous photo of the main character when he was young and call it a day.

I just watched it. I liked the story, cinematography, music.
Something I didn't like was that at about 19 and a half minutes into the movie the closed captions said distant loon calls when it was obviously a Great Horned Owl. Welcome to Bozoville!

I think he was picked because he looked like an aged William Bonney.

Would it happen to be on Netflix?
The wife subscribes to it.
Otherwise, I've got a long wait for it to get on TCM

I think it's on HBO Max. Subscribe for the first month free to watch it, then cancel it.

I paid 99 cents to rent it on Amazon Prime. Well, there you go. Thanks. I can't remember where I saw it, but I caught it when it first aired. Good Western.

I think he was picked because he looked like an aged William Bonney. Yep. Uh, no. He was picked because he's the Executive Producer. He hired himself. Watched it tonight because of this thread. Good flick. +1 on the plastic hulls hitting the floor. The 94 looks like they bought it at Walmart just before shooing the picture. Other than that, it was an enjoyable evening.

This bothers me, too. How hard would it be to find an old Model 94 in reasonably nice shape? That rifle does indeed scream of Walmart. E.g., the sling swivels, the flat butt plate that's obviously not steel. The butt plate should have been crescent or semi crescent, made of polished and blued steel. That one was obviously plastic. Other things about it looked wrong, too.

Almost as irritating, gun-wise is the brass grip framed, cheap 1873 Colt's.
