My DiL got her first elk today, a cow. Problem is she shot it in the steepest most hard to get to area around. luckily there was a old logging road that was passable about 1/4 mile from the kill and it was downhill to the truck. It was about 10 miles from the house, by road. Shot it at about 7am, we had it packed out and back to the house just before noon.

AZG&F finally made a boundary around the town where you cannot discharge a firearm or a bow except for archery practice. As a kid, many years ago, I've shot them off my parents front porch which is about 1/4 mile from my home, but not anymore as the place grew up, and I dont really mind the restriction if it keeps idiot from shooting through my house, especially with grandkids playing out front all the time.
