Have ya'll checked out LugerMan? You don't even have to be a Luger fan to realize what he's doing is pretty special. Prices are certainly above my pay grade, but even if I could never afford one, I happily applaud his craft. Building a 9mm Luger is one hell of a task. But how cool would it be to take this hunting. A 10mm Luger. Also available in a carbine, or a baby Luger. Specs... Luger 10mm 1907 Classic $9295.00 Made in USA Caliber: 10mm Capacity: 7 + 1 Barrel Size: 4.75 inch Overall Height : 5.5 inch Overall Length : 9.3 inch Body Width: 1.25 inch Max Width at toggle: 1.45 inch Weight: 32 ounce Finish: Slow Rust Blue, Straw and Fire Blue on small parts Grips: Checkered Walnut https://lugerman.com/product/luger-10mm-1907-classic/

Woulda been a much better idea 25 years ago before all the WW2 vets were gone.

It was a much less doable project 25 years ago. Prices on the types of manufacturing equipment you would need to do this project were REALLY high back then, because it was kinda leading edge. Now its common and relatively cheap which is why someone is doing this now.
And his clientele are a very important part of his success or failure. You have to be pretty good to keep the doors open when your guns start at $9,000. I think its absolutely awesome this little niche market even exists...pretty cool. God bless capitalism!!

He's building P-08 German Lugers from scratch?? That's pretty cool.

My sense of the throughput of Lugers in the market over the last twenty years or so is that of "asymptotically approaching zero".

I was all excited...then saw the price. $9295. Not doubting the time and craftsmanship value, but it's not that cool. Maybe $2500 cool.

Well, he has been doing it for several years, and he's not the first too do it. John Martz Lugers are world famous. I knew John Martz, he did his the hard way...I doubt ever ever even saw a CNC machine. He built custom Lugers for at least 30 years, and made a decent living. I think LugerMan is likely to do pretty well...It's a niche, within a niche. For the "other half" such prices aren't really all that big of a deal. SMG guns has been making FG42's for the past 10 years at $6k ea and they seem to be getting by just fine. Then of course there's all the other boutique gunmakers who make high end sporting rifles and shotguns that go for 10-15 times what one of those Lugers sell for. Some of those companies are over 200 years old.
