Bought a new set of RCBS 22/250 dies at Cabelas today. Opened them up a bit ago and noticed that there is what appears to be a date stamp of "21". I don't remember ever seeing this stamp on a die or any reloading equipment?

Is this a new government requirement or something?

My first RCBS die set is stamped 79 which was the year I bought it, so RCBS has been doing it at least that long. Haven't seen any other brands with date stamps.

Oh cool. So RCBS is stamping dates on their dies again? Think they stopped doing that 20? 30? years ago.

RCBS didn't start stamping the dies until the 60's I think. My oldest date is 66.

Checked my recently purchased 8x68S dies and no date stamp. They did stop and re-start.

Why?

Questions about reloading dies don't belong in the reloading forum?
