Just let a fork horn bull moose walk off my property after he had a thorough browse session. I'm going to continue to stay committed to shooting my first 50"+ bull. Velvet was stripped, too.

dang ain't you read the regs?
I'm pretty sure shooting one in your yard or your neighbors yard doesn't count against you.
Tell em you read it on the internet, you'll be safe. (grin)
though really who wants to deal with getting a gutpile outa their own yard?

I haven't ever eaten horns but a back strap would taste good right now. Good on ya, that's the only way you'll get one but I started hunting for meat long ago. Not to mention Randy is right about the gut pile in the yard.

A pard here always says: 70" or nuthin'. It comes true every year. He even had a 50"+ in his yard last year. Idjit!

Bearstalker....:)
You were just too lazy to want to do the butchering work...:)
With the regs in AK , that 'little' moose would have been shot, gutted and hung inside an hour for most..:) Good luck on the 50+" bull.. Blow up the swimming pool and fill it with water and get your call out and if the weather stays warm, he may come into your yard for a snack and a dip ..:) Jim

Turned a small bull down last week.Should of popped him but was in the logging truck plus it was warm.2 falls ago the butcher used his bobcat and chains to pull a moose off the loaded logging truck. That one made the newspaper.
The moose was shot in the logging block. The butt & top loaded it on top of the load.

I was just thinking that gut pile would've been an awful handy bear bait. You might'a could'a got a two-fer deal from your yard.
Is it Friday yet?

Let's see if KKAlaska posts his two-fer story from night before last...

This is an excellent technique that has worked time and time again. I'm surprised more folks don't use it!!! <<MM>>

You could always get a come-along and a trailer and deal with the guts somewhere else. My buddy did this a few years ago.
