I’ve only owned three of them. Maybe if I buy another I will get a jammer. I reloading for all of them with no problem. Just not to hot. Edk
I’m not too sure how many I’ve owned - several and my experience is the same.
Keep it clean, use medium burn rate powders, 150 to 180 grain bullets (50 to 165 may even be better).
Keep what’s needed to be lubed, lubed. Even a very light lube like Kroil in cold weather. You might try a dry lube when it’s way below zero temp-wise.
The only reason I no longer have a 742 or 74 or 7400 is that I likely shoot well over a hundred rounds in practice for every round I shoot at game - I reload. My range is on my yard. The benches and where I shoot off-hand are surrounded by grass and I hate looking for and wasting time looking for brass.
But if you desire to abuse semi-automatics you might consider converting to slide action or trading for a slide action.
