Thanks Fug. I do collect other Savage guns, and if all goes well tomorrow, I'll post them up.

I think I found why some of my pics post normal and some post the code. If I post it as it was first loaded to IMGUR, it will post fine, in this case upside down. If I edit it, and rotate it, right side up, it just posts the link. Don't ask me why, I don't understand these things.

Your link is NFG (not formatted good) It kicks a 404 error.

The link has to end in ".jpg" or ".jpeg" or ".png" or something similar. The addition of the "?1" in the url breaks it for display here.

So what imgur gives you ends up like this:

[img]https://i.imgur.com/cfzV7Wl.jpg?1[/img]

If you remove the "?1" from the end, it will often work. So for this link https://i.imgur.com/cfzV7Wl.jpg you get:

Sometimes the link no longer works if you remove the trailing letters that are after the .jpg/.jpeg/etc, but you can add a "fake" .jpg ending. Just tack on "&.jpg" to your link. So for this link https://i.imgur.com/cfzV7Wl.jpg?1&.jpg you get:

How are you getting the image link? If you right click on the pic and 'copy image address' you get the correct link for posting. just add the image tags and it works.

I'd love to see photos of those rare Savages. I couldn't add anything to the discussion but it would expand my knowledge. I can see why you wouldn't want to get jacked around for posting though. I just got jacked around and I had to step away before I said something I wouldn't even come close to regretting but would have felt really, really good to get off my chest. Held my tongue this time.

proud of ya Roy!

Might want to rethink that Tom. I'm not letting that kind of crap go.

I've fixed broken guns for more than one person here, sent more than one stock sets for broken guns, taken apart my safe to get guns out of the back and then taken them apart and taken photos to get answers for guys that asked them, taken guys hunting, met guys for lunch and helped them when they toured Oregon. Sent one stock to a member here for recheckering then just ended up sending him the whole gun and letting him have it. Just because he's one hell of a nice guy.

Yeah, I'm disappointed to learn ya'll aren't here to serve me.

might want to rethink that too!

Some image sharing websites will have a button you click to get the image address, and they'll sometimes tack on extra stuff on the URL. Especially common on phones and tablets, where you can't right-click at all and have to depend on the app or web site to hand you the image address.

Imgur has 6 choices. One says BBCODE(for message boards and forums), that's the one I click. 99% of the time it works fine. Now and then I'll post 4-5 pics and 3 will post the pic, and the others have the link. It just started doing this in the past few months. And, it only does it here. I'll look at the end of the link before I click it and see what I find.

Part of the reason I bought a 99 was this forum. I found one and received a lot of help from the usual suspects. Once I got it sorted and sighted in I was happy. At my age I probably won’t buy another unless it’s a smoking deal. Love the rifle but the other ones I would like are very expensive and living on SS it isn’t going to happen.

I still log on here 3 or 4 times a week to see what’s going on and what rare rifle someone got or if Roy killed another bear. I have limited knowledge compared to most people so I just read and enjoy the happenings on here.

I am pretty sure that a lot of people do the same, so to the regulars, keep posting we are out here enjoying the site.
Oh, and here is a picture of my only common, fun of the mill, everyone has one 99EG in 300 Savage. 😂😎

it's got nice wood. And I am a big fan of EG's. Don't be bashful about buying more 99's your heirs can probably sell them at a profit.

I've always liked EG's, but it took me 10 years to find one in 250, at the same time I had money in my pocket.

I tell you Fug, one of the reasons we loose folks to FB is because we are old, and they are young. I'm not a purist, I truly wish I could be, but my old hot rodding spirit comes through. I appreciate Roy's adventures. I almost cried when he offered me his 270 Titus, and I had to pass on it. I'm really excited with the .429 straight wall I'm playing with, on a 400 Whelen case, shortened, in a 99C. But these are just gun looney natural tendencies. Over on FB I see some of the most awful, ugly, abominations you can imagine, and they have 20 positive replies. The Levergun forum is worse. I guy posted pics of his true love, a Marlin with synthetic stock, picatiny, monster scope, and a can . Out of respect to his hard work and investment, I couldn't say I didn't even want to be in the same state as that thing, and every single reply was Yes, Love it, Where can I get one like it. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great guys on FB, a lot from here, and a lot I didn't know. Some great knowledge there. Same with Leverguns. I've been talking to a guy in Sweden, I think, that took a moose with an 1895 Winchester. I wish a moose would kick me in the head for selling my 1895 Winny, made in 1910, 35 Winchester, bought from the original owner. FB reminds me of Star Wars, their ray gun pistols were 1896 Broom Handles. That's what a lot of the new generation want to make their Grand Dad's 1899 look like. The older guys on FB tend to know how to coddle them. Very shortly after I came here some one called me Stupid, or the question I asked was Stupid. So, I sent them a PM and asked ,"what did I do Stupid, So I don't do the Stupid thing again?" They responded laughing, said Stupid was probably a little strong, ignorant was probably more accurate, and went on to tell me the stupid thing I did, and they were right. I still get along just fine with that person. The kids don't want to know what we think, or if we are right, they just want some one to agree with them. I understand that too.

Joe, a moose would have to kick me in the head,IF I had a win 1895 and tried to sell it. Ken

It's a good thing there are no Mooses in MD, my pea for a brain would constantly be rattling around like the one in my Dad's old chrome plated whistle.

My wife calls the two trees in the background the "goal posts". The two moose were dead center in front of the softwood tree. The one in the back was the bigger of the two. I waited for the front one to move so I could get a clear shot. But carry on, I don't want to bore anyone or steal the thread. Someone opened the door when moose was mentioned. Carry on.
