Who is seeing signs of the early rut? I am located in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. I have seen a few good rubs and two small scrapes that caught my attention. Acorns and Beech nuts are in good abundance this year.

Not much happening with western mule deer, but it should turn on in about another 10 days or so. About all we've seen so far.

Packing Cookie up for a trip south with her cameras tomorrow. Should have some good shots in about 3 weeks. Peak for mulies here is about the 2nd and 3rd weeks of Nov. Clean up, however, can run into mid Dec.

Bucks starting to push does here. Heard some sparing going on. Lots of scrapes on the field edges and in the woods. Just south of the twin cities Minnesota. Should be a great weekend of hunting.

I'm seeing a lot from the activity on trail cams of bucks chasing does and bucks sparring. Been seeing quite a few rubs and new scrapes. A lot of movement.

Northern WI last weekend had scrapes all over the place while we were in the woods. We didn’t see a lot of rubs though.

I saw a few small rubs last Sunday, no scrapes. I did make a mock scrape in a location that has had an active scrape in it for the past 6-8 years. I placed a trail cam to record the activity. We will see what happens this Sunday.

What kind of weather do you have up there? Really mild here in the southern Adirondacks for the last three weeks, the deer just don't seem to be moving.

Found some scrapes here in Washington Co. Seen a few bucks chasing does during the day. Time to start blowing the grunt call

I can tell when the chase phase starts but the number of fresh road kills on my commute. I'd say based on the last 2 days that the chase is on in Western NY.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

We are seeing a lot of bucks cruising and more shooters have shown up in the last week or so. A lot of scrapes but not a lot of chasing yet.
