I think you get the best answer by looking at Guns International and sold rifles on Gun Broker. Some rifles on Guns International are a bit steep, but I like it better than Gun Broker.

I have a couple Remington Marlins and I think they are as good as the old Marlins. Though the light weight 45-70 comes back pretty hard with full power loads - raps the right hand pretty good.
