I came across this link on another website and then followed it.

Can you imagine using a Lab to retrieve seals? From what the original Icelandic poster said, his dog weighs 32 kilos (about 70 lbs, I figure) and retrieves 70 kilo dead seals or about 155 lb critters. That is one strong Lab! Without the pictures I don't think I'd have believed it.

As to hunting seals with a scoped rifle from the rocks, I doubt it will ever be legal in the US though it might help save some endangered salmon species in the Pac. NW.
