Ate lunch and a big piece of NM apple pie at the older looking place on the left and breakfast at the one on the right a few years ago while chasing elk. Beautiful up there.

Kent couple of restaurants there serving quess what, pie. probably know everybody in town. Thats the American way - a whole town makes it existence on selling pies. I was there 3 or 4 years ago and as I recall there were 3 restaurants specializing in pies and one guy with a portable BBQ set-up. I didn't see any other income producing business in the town. Oh yeah, I apparently chose the wrong restaurant because the pie was mediocre. drover

The pie we had there was good. Seems one of the places shut down. About a block long - both sides of the highway. Blink, and you missed it.

Agreed. There's a highway intersection near there. Too much potential for a traffic jam, I say. The highway intersection is 20 miles away in Datil. Might be okay for a few more years before traffic gets bad, if you can avoid rush hour.

603 crosses Highway 60 right there at Pie Town, but you might not consider 603 to be a highway. But still, you're right...I was thinking of the intersection in Quemado.
I sure like that valley Highway 60 runs through.

Yeah, I guess 603 is a state road, but as far as I know it's still gravel. I used to own property up that road and to the east toward the Sawtooth mountains. Haven't been over that way in quite a while.
