Nice!

Ford will mandate vaccines for its 32,000 US salaried employees, a spokesperson for the company said Wednesday.

Those workers have until December 8 to be fully vaccinated. Employees who refuse to do so and do not have an approved religious or medical exemption will be put on paid leave for a maximum of 30 days. After that time their job protection expires, according to the spokesperson.

Easy way to cut employees when you can’t sell cars and trucks.

For the most part, those are not production related workers.

Nicer!...

Sounds like even the Demcrat's pet labor unions are telling Biden to shove his mandates where the sun don't shine...

Bet if the union workforce went on strike now all the unvaccinated salaried employees would all of a sudden be given a free pass of undetermined length...

---the rest of the story...

Quote

...But the rest of Ford's employees, represented by unions, will not fall under this mandate right away due to federal and collective bargaining requirements, said the company's spokesperson.
"OSHA-ETS guidelines have yet to be released and is subject to bargaining with the UAW," the spokesperson said. "How the OSHA requirements will apply is currently being reviewed and discussed with union leadership."
Some 56,000 United Auto Workers union members who work for Ford will not be subject to this new company mandate, said Brian Rothenberg, spokesperson for the UAW....

32,000 expensive, non producers.
Many who probably inhibit procuction.
Add in the $1million+ top cats,
And wonder why a car cost so much.

Every car you buy, a tiny bit goes to pay those folks.

And all we hear about is the UAE. (Which isn't near blameless)

All three of the major U.S. automobile / truck manufacturers are political fence straddlers. They typically contribute to democrat and republican parties both and to individual candidates of both parties but usually more to democrats.

Chip shortages only seem prevalent in companies embracing the idea of creating an EV market where there is little demand, other than federal funds.

Domestic manufacturers and domestically produced manufacturers are rife with part supercessions of almost dizzying occurrence. These manufacturers can literally have a seat cushion made by three different suppliers, within two weeks or less time and manage to change the part number too, indicating such. But they can't get any chips?

Yeah, Tennessee's "Conservative" governor gave them $882 Million, they expect to dictate to us for that kind of money...

Ford wants to show that it is willing to do the obedient thing with the current government? or are they doing it out of concern for their employees? Historically this smells like Bayer happily producing Zyclon B for the Nazi's. Ford needs to go one step further and mandate vax for employees family members and especially young children, everyone on Ford employee health plan.
Comply, submit...win big government bucks with electric fleets that don't work.

The carrot or the stick. Months ago, Cleveland Cliffs, the largest iron ore miner and steel maker in the USA, with mostly USWA work places, offered all employees $1500 to get vaccinated, and paid $1500 to those already vaccinated. They added a $500 kicker to all vaccinated employees when their worksite reaches 80% vaccinated. Hmm. No lawsuits and no work stoppages.
