My cousin is the source. He and his wife are very active conservative political types in Houston. He's an executive with an international insurer of industrial plants, travels all over. His Dad, my Dad's brother was a professor at what is now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He was raised in Lafayette.
His wife proudly tells the libs, she's a real African-American. Born in Kenya, educated in England, speaks with an English accent. Her Dad was Portuguese, her Mom was from Goa, India. She was a D'Souza as in Denish D'Souza.
In the early 1500's, the Portuguese established a colony on the West coast of India, Goa. The Portuguese were well known sailors way back in time; Goa was a stop over for their ships. Her family had businesses in Kenya, had servants, chauffeurs, lived in a walled compound. When Kenyan politics became unstable, they moved to England where she still has family. Interesting couple.
