Our last trip to Africa was to Namibia maybe 4 years ago for a couple of dozen daze of photo-safari in Etosha, time on the north coast fishing, an ATV ride of the desert and some hunting. We had the kudu hide leather tanned and my wife has recovered our bar stools with the leather as well as making two sets of gaiters for my youngest and I. Killer stuff...

that may be a Hollywood movie, but it still is a picture of 1979 Texas and a lot of rural areas of the nation. I miss those simple days.

lol! Sam, There is a boot shop in Boise where they will remove that boot heel and put in a wedge of the required thickness to prevent that roll over. I will only wear a riding heel. About 1 1/2" to 1 5/8" and underset. All of my boots get 3/16" inch under the outside of the heel before I ever put them on for the first time. A guy in Caldwell started doing this for me in 1980. Then he went into business for himself and eventually had (I think) four stores between Boise and Nampa. He has retired, but family is still running the business. Rosendahl's Not only does the wedge keep the boot looking nice, but it stops the damned things from rolling under your heel when you walk. Of course, it does not help that I wear a triple E or F boot and that lets the heel move a bit. My favorite hide has been African Antelope for many years. But it is getting difficult to find boots made of such recently. They wear well, and do not show scuffs. I would imagine cape buffalo hide would perform in a similar fashion. I just can not wrap my head around buying boots online without the chance to try them on in the store. That would make it much easier to find what a guy really wants. Spurs?? There ain't no spur shelf on them boots. GRIN

Between lots of pickup driving and walking like a muppet, my right boot always ends up looking the same after a time. Thanks for the tip about Rosendahl's. I'm only a couple hours away.

Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.
