I check all mine. I think if it happens to be off from the year before that it's not the rifle but the way I shot the rifle the year before, after a few shots it's back on.

I worked our club's "sight in days" three days this week. It's scary. People take 30 seconds to squeeze off a shot with front and rear bags at 100yds, get within 6 inches of aiming point, and say they're "good".

So, we roll up in the minivan with the utility trailer at the public range on 10 outside NY Mills on the way up because my niece wants to re-re-re check her zero.

There's a group of guys not hitting paper at 100. We throw up two targets at 50, she nails 5 for 5 on her target. So now we're packing up, and the group of guys is now moving over to the 25 to "get on paper."

Most people don't need to "zero" they need to fuucking practice.....

Over the years I've noticed people tend to be over gunned, over scoped and under practiced.

Ya I shoot all year so they are always zero'd

Never have to change anything unless I switch ammo

I like that. Probably because it rings true.

Every ethical hunter should check their zero. I owe it to the animal to kill it clean.

I’ll check several rifles and have them ready to go. If at some time during the season I decide to use another rifle, I’ll get to the camp early enough to fire a few shots to check it.

This is the truth. I see it every year with some of the misfits in my campground.

Do you check it every day? After every hunt? Is a gun more or less likely to loose zero while hunting or from sitting in a closet?

Thanks

Got a friend in PENN who owns a farm and has a 100 yard range behind his garage. At least twice a week he sits down at the bench and fires a few rounds with one of his rifles. Does this year round depending on the weather

I check every rifle before I use it for hunting each season. If I do load prep or something over the summer, that is usually good. I make sure that it is sighted in and where I want it, with the ammo I am going to use each season.
