The only rifle I hunt deer with these days is a soulless Tikka T3 Lite stainless in 7mm-08.

Pretty much perfect for me.

I dunno, maybe have one of my FNs rebarreled to .270 in SS and stocked to come in under 8lbs. My new M70 EW .308 is pretty close as it came, but I still have a preference for the Mausers overall. Add a M70-type safety, nitride the whole thing, and top it off with a Trijicon 3-9 or 1-6.

One of them’s already pretty close, but the fancy walnut would have to go to lighten it up and keep me from fussing about banging it up.

Dang Pappy. You had me fooled.

I thought you were an older guy, but you're saving that nice wood for your young son.

Or are they gonna plant it with you?

Have to be my savage 10 in 243. Not real pretty, but dad bought it for me so that's the one that would stay.

My dad's BLR in .358 Winchester . Not the best general choice but if I could only have one that would be what I would keep. If I didn't have it I would keep either my Kimber 84 in 7-08 or .325 WSM or my Ruger 6.5x55 carbine . Of course I'd have to keep my 1912 (?) Winchester 94 in .32 SPL and my1911 m92 in 38-40 for hogs and
such. You did say the " only one " was for all your deer hunting needs , correct ? laugh

I’d have to go with a boring 700 in a 30-06
