When or if you find them, what are you willing to pay? I passed on $110/K. I just can't get it put of my head that the last primers I got were about $34/K and I winced at those prices. I figure I may have to go for it some time but there's gotta be a limit, right?

Well a box of 308 corelock ammo costs 30 bucks if you can find it... 1.50 a shot.
Or you can reload for a 10 cent primer .30 0f powder and a .40 hndy interlock for .80 a shot at todays prices.
If you have some components at 2 year ago prices it'll be cheaper.
Or don't buy ammo or components and don't shoot.
Premium ammo is 50 to 75 bucks a box... a .10 primer isn't so bad then.

Harder to justify LR and SR right now for me, I'm not low on them yet.

I passed on CCI sm rifle at $70/1000, and Federal 209 at $99/1000. I have plenty of both anyway. These were at Scheels in Eden Prairie Mn.

When the smoke clears you fellas might want to stock up. Learned my lesson back during the Clinton era and had a reminder when the O was in office.

You buy when the value of the primers exceeds the value of the federal reserve notes. Primers are in short supply, but federal reserve notes are unlimited.
P.S. I got two people started reloading from scratch in 2020 with enough supplies to last them several years, for free. We used the currency that uncle sugar was handing out for free, and got most of the stuff before the market adjusted to the insane increase in the monetary supply.

I grabbed the lone box of 150 gr '06 Corelokt on the shelf at SW Friday. $34 including tax. I can live with that. I'll save my components for desperate times if they come. And buy more if/when they arrive at reasonable prices.

Don't forget to add the USP hazmat fee to the price. That can jump the price 25%. I haven't seen any primers on the shelf locally in a long time. The hazmat fee is the same no matter how many you order so small orders get expensive fast. I'm down to about 200 sm rifle and might have to bite it and pay up before spring.

When or if you find them, what are you willing to pay? The princely sum of $25/thou.

Bought two bricks of ones I was marginally stocked on. The price is the price. With the current transportation and supply situation, I don’t see much chance of prices easing in the short term. Better than gunshow/GB prices, and much better than going without.
Price reports seem pretty consistent across the board, so until they begin to show in stores, I’m assuming costs to the online dealers have risen. Brass and bullets seem somewhat more available; powder not so much, though I’m just looking out of curiousity for that. Much of that is imported, and international shipping is hosed.
What fresh Hell is this?

I’ve got some stocked away. Enough to keep us hunting for awhile. Prices have definitely curtailed my shooting though. Less plinking and club shoots. If prices remain as they are today my shooting will remain as today or less.
Getting into air guns lately. Upfront set up is somewhat pricey. Cost to shoot once everything’s in place is minimal. Gives me my plinking and tinkering fix without the constant searching for components and sticker shock.
Hopefully primers settle out at $40-$50/1k someday. Not expecting that anytime soon.
