You save a chidt ton of money, if you shoot harder to find ammo. Even stuff like 9.3x62mm. The stuff I load costs about $120.00/box at the stores. That's for 20 rounds. If you only load 223 or 308, you may be right, but I load for 300wby, 308 norma, 9.3x62mm etc.. Even match grade 223 ammo can be spendy. There are all kinds of savings to be had by loading your own. If you aren't, that is your fault... No one to blame for your stupidity, except for yourself...

You can learn a lot by watching videos on YouTube also. Some of them are really detailed and give you a real good break down of how and why to do things a certain way. Some.... I really expect they will blow something up one day

Besides what BSA1917hunter said, it allows you more choice in calibers. Try finding 6.5-06 or 338-06 on the shelves

I must be the exception as I haven't saved a chit ton of money although my price per round is lower than factory. Might be because my inventory in brass ,primers, projectiles and powder is extensive compared to some. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

I do shoot a lot more than i did before i got back into reloading but i certianly dont save a chit ton of money, I spend more buying components for shooting now than i ever did BUT it is great fun 👍......Hb

I bought a Lee loading kit 50 years ago to save money shooting. Using a mallet to reload wasn't a lot of fun, so I purchased a Rockchucker. One thing led to another, and now I have a 8x12 ft room stuffed to the max with powder, primers, bullets, dies, presses, and other gizmos that promised to make reloading faster and better.I

That first round loaded with the Lee kit was the most expensive I ever loaded.

This makes me feel better; I also have an 8x12 out building full of reloading equipment. Maybe we could carpool to therapy. I tried seeking counseling from my dad, but he suggested a bigger building and a second gun safe….
