What have been your experiences changing barrels on an Encore? If previously sighted in, does the POI remain close enough for hunting to 200 yards if the barrel is put back on the frame. I am traveling for a hunt that will start with a muzzleloader and end after rifle season opens. I plan on shooting once after putting the rifle barrel on, but if i should expect to have to sight it in again I will just take a separate rifle.

I did experience point of impact changes in changing barrels which is why all my barrels have their own receivers. The POI impact difference was a low of 2 inches to about 4 inches.

I did install Mike Bellm's 1X hinge pin in each frame I own. Installing a Bellum hinge pin will reduce the POI shift
as in the T/C design the hinge pin is where the pressure torque takes place.

May suggest you perform a barrel swap at the range before your hunting trip ......so you really know what your centerfire barrel is shooting. Confidence is accuracy is what makes us rifle looney's.

Also in my opinion the tightness of the forearm to the barrel does is another variable to accuracy......I free floated all my forearms.

Ideally I would attempt it before leaving, but won’t be able to hit the range beforehand. Thanks for the replies, there are other guns to take. Maybe I will get a chance to check it after opening morning.

Before you leave shoot a group, take the barrel off and put it back on and shoot another group see where it hits. Most I've seen change a bit but only about an inch at 100

I swap my barrels from Muzzleloader to riffle every year and haven't experienced any issues.
