The prosecutor has a huge built in advantage.
1) He’s got nothing to lose and isn’t not risking life in prison.
2) He gets to craft his questions before hand and grill the defendant hoping to snare him while the defendant doesn’t get the opportunity to question him back. The prosecutor gets to go full offense while the defendant is 100% flying by the seat of his pants on defense.

Rittenhouse was stellar in telling his story, and has held up very well so far under cross. Too bad he answered any of the questions about whether it is legal to shoot someone for damaging property, and I thought so the instant that line of questions started, but that was not critical I think.
I’m no kind of expert but it looks to me like the prosecutor has given up on this trial and is making his case to appeal judges and main stream media rather than this jury. His snide sarcasm toward Rittenhouse can’t play well with the jury, which comes over as a pro lawyer beating up on a kid. The judge appears biased for Rittenhouse, a rare treat for such a defendant nowadays, but may not look good to an appeal court.
The kid comes over like a good candidate for the Navy Seals.
Seems to me like 50 years ago this would never have come to trial but would have been ruled self defense from the start.

This is pretty cut and dry self defense. Hope the jury is not a bunch of nutty Liberal gun hating morons... It's not like the young man premeditated any of those shootings...I am shocked at how well he handled that situation, and did not shoot anyone that was not directly attacking or causing him physical harm. It would be far different if he had panicked and just started randomly shooting into the mob that was chasing him...The prosecution shouldn't even have a case; especially, with the video evidence. Too bad the judge can't just make a ruling to dismiss the case and end the BS after hearing the testimony and seeing the evidence...
