Good job on the oinkers... And nice looking buck,What's a buck like that down there go on the hoof? He weighed 140 Thanks, always hear of Tx whitetails being heavy racked ,but smaller bodied. Again,, nice one I hunted in Coleman county, bout an hour northwest of here. We had lots of bucks over 200, bigger racks, and larger deer population. It was farm country, much more for the deer to eat. Yep. There are some nice bucks taken in Coleman County every year. Hunt my buddies Ranch between there and Santa Anna. Next time your over there close to Coleman, try Best Fried Chicken in Coleman. It’s right across the street from the Sonic. Best Mom & Pop Chicken joint I’ve ever ate at. Anywhere And it’s ran and owned by a white family. Ate there many times, could see the street lights in Santa Ann from the hills on our lease 15 miles away

Most excellent hanco! I judge that as a very nice buck along with a fine rifle! Brings back memories of my first deer rifle which was a .284.

Great buck! I would always be proud of a buck of that caliber. Super cool that you took him with such a cool rifle and cartridge. Well done!

That is a heck a buck for the hill country. Congrats !
Dig the 284 mdl 99 also. You don't see those everyday especially in Texas.

You smoke some of that backstrap yet David? I love the taste of whitetail. I believe it beats blacktail and mule deer all day long.
