I believe it is what's called an etched glass reticle. Anyway, I find it very easy to see in low-light situations and I would like to get a fixed 6X or 2-7X lightweight scope with a similar type reticle. I'm not sure how good Leupold's reticles are nowadays, but an the reticle in my old Vari-X III sucked when it started getting dark.
Any recommedations are much appreciated.

Lots of reticles are glass etched. That's a nice feature, but it's not what makes a reticle visible in low light conditions. That would mostly be dependent on how heavy the reticle is and how bright the scope is, with heavier reticles and brighter scopes having an advantage in low light. Then there's always illumination.

Their reticle is etched construction. I have a Conquest 3-9x40 with a Z Plex / # 20 reticle. In this scope, to my eye, it is a good lower light reticle. It is basically a Duplex style.

I don’t see what you mean by that, most simple reticles are made in that way

That's not completely true. I have scopes that do not have heavy reticles that are easily seen in low light. You are correct for loopie scopes as their reticles suck in lowlights in my experience
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

Conquest reticles are etched glass. They kind of fall in between a Leupold heavy duplex, standard duplex, and wide plex in terms of thickness, width, and spacing.

The Leupold reticles seem to blend with the background and almost seem brown. The Conquest is much better.
