Wondering if anyone has one of these scopes with the Z-Plex reticle?? For those that have used this scope would you say the reticle is similar to say a Leupold duplex reticle? The Zeiss website says its a very fine reticle so wondering if its hard to see in lower light or if like a Leupold it should be OK. Seeing some good deals on these and thinking it would be a pretty good set and forget type scope.

Appreciate any info anyone can share about this scope - likes/dislikes??
Thanks!

That Zeiss seems awfully thin and wide in the center. Open country it might not matter though. The ZPlex in my Terra 3-9 is pretty thick and I like it. The newer zplex in the V4 seems thin from the specs.

Thanks much for those links - looks like there is a slight difference in the Zeiss duplex versus the Leupold. Guess I need to try and look through one and decide if I can live with it.

Much appreciated!

While not the 44mm I have the 3X12X56 with the lit reticle. I have found it perfect for both lowlight as well as plenty bright for bright sun as well, perfect for my 64 year old eyes.

IMHO, the Zeiss Z-plex is slightly heavier and easier to see than Leupold's duplex. I have a 3-9 Conquest and a 4-16 V4 and both have excellent reticals that are easy to see in low light and yet do not obscure small targets at the range.
