All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Will this mean the end of the 527 series?

I’m not a fan of the 20” barrel for 308 and 06. 22” is just fine for hunting.

The trail model needs more than 223 and x39. Maybe 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel. And since they don’t do stainless they need to at least haven an option for factory creakote.

Hmm, still looks strictly worse than the 550. I'm guessing entering the cheap garbage rifle market with the 557 didn't work out so hot. But this doesn't look like the solution.

I believe the introduction of the CZ 600 could very well mean the end of the trail for CZ’s 527. And that would be a crying shame. I have a 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 and it is an absolute jewel. I was planning on getting a 527 American in 6.5 Grendel in the not to distant future. Damn-that probably won’t happen now.

Even if a Grendel was added to the CZ 600 lineup, I think I rather go with a Howa.

There will be new in the box rifles for years to come.
I bought a Sako made in 63 not long ago, unfired.

Yes, it looks like they are discontinued.

Yeah I was pretty intrigued by the lux until I noticed that.

Also not convinced I could reach the trigger with a jacket on.

Leave it to CZ to fugg shyt up. Look at the weights and the LOP on the Lux and Alpha. Ugh ! And is that a wood bolt knob on the LUX ? No thanks if it is. Other than that, they're all pretty ugly. CZ's giant ass open sights and sight hoods don't help matters either.

I tried to tell Alice that the last thing American hunters wanted/needed was another overweight, fat, blued, push feed bolt action before the 557 was introduced.

The 2moa accuracy guarantee he mentioned for everything but the Range in that article was seems to be incorrect per CZ-USA's website. It looks like the Range has a 3/4 moa guarantee, the Lux and Alpha have sub-moa, and the Trail doesn't have any guarantee probably because they put the token cheek rest in a place where cheeks usually don't go and it's going to be sporty to shoot well.

A lot of weird choices here, they dropped 6.5 Grendel, skipped 6mm ARC and picked up .224 Valk that basically has both feet in the grave at this point. But then they don't offer any of those in the Trail? Just .223 (7 twist but cramped in short mags), and 7.62x39 (so they are making Grendel sized bolt faces anyway).

Apparently we don't get the lightest option in the US, the Ergo, which according to the article has some options below 6 lbs. Yep Americans only want heavy hunting rifles, good call CZ. All the muzzle threads are right on the CZ-USA website except the Lux which for some reason has an M15x1 thread in the US?

I guess the swap barrel system and nitrided barrels are cool and they didn't screw up the twists, I'll be interested to see what the mag length is on the Alpha, and if the stock is squishy like the outgoing black rubber 527 stocks were.

I would have liked to seen the Trail in 300blk with a 10" threaded barrel...but no dice.

So what is our thoughts on an Aluminum receiver?
I like the switch barrel option.Think I like the new magazine, I like the switch out bolt face. Really like my old CZ 527's especially my re-barreled 6mm ARC. Truth be told Id likely see one of the 600's coming into my stable in years to come. We will see, not like I am in need of anything new.

Yup - the world does not need another cost cutting rifle pretending to be a Mauser/M70. Either make a correctly featured hunting rifle, or don't bother.
