Took my nephew this year during the Mo youth season. He passed several deer up early but decided this was the one. He shot it with a custom 700 25-204 I had built for kids to use ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/3J3jwSgL/2112-CFE0-9-FB8-4-DBF-B78-A-84-D4-DAE910-BF.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/L8XztJQL/6-E46-B995-4-F34-41-DA-B690-38-E253102-D94.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/c4TRtRhd/7-C79-FAC5-3087-4-F0-B-8-C7-E-5-E0089-FAB301.jpg)

Congratulations to the young man!! Tell us about the rifle please.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

The rifle is a 700 donor that I had a 22” Shilen barrel chambered and fitted. B&C mtn guide stock chopped to 11” lop The cartridge is a simple .204 case sent through the 25-204 die and loaded with some 335 and a 90 Gr ttsx at 2800 or so. It is very accurate and fits the kids nice with minimal recoil

Congratulations to you and your nephew. I took all of mine to shoot their first deer when they were young, here at the Ranch. After letting them practice on the Hogs, first.

Tanner along with several other kids and a few adults are 100% 1 shot kills with it. Not a “long range” setup but that’s not what I was after ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/nLZwr2yN/6399-F9-BA-9109-43-E5-9099-5-D1-C0-DB6-CA57.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/NjRzQSz1/8-D124-DAF-BD5-C-44-C9-926-B-F5-B7-C8-F863-F7.jpg)
