I have several boxes of Remington 7mm-08 PSP. However, it does not say Core-Lokt on the box. Does anyone know if the Remington 7mm-08 ammo has always used Core-Lokt bullets or was the early ammo made with a different bullet?

Thanks.

How old is the ammo--or do you know!

There was a period about 30 years ago when Remington used other brands of bullets, instead of Core-Lokts, because they were changing the original Core-Lokts to a thinner-jacketed bullet. I knew for sure they loaded Hornady Interlock Spire-Points in some of their ammo during that period.

MD

I am not sure how old it is. The ammo is in the plastic sleeves just like the modern ammo. I have been buying it over the last 25 years +/'.

These are 140 grain. I went and looked at the sleeve and these say Remington Dupont where the core-lokt just say Remington. The box is 1/2 green and 1/2 yellow. I see Dupont sold Remington in 1993 so I assume this ammo is before then. That makes it at least 28 years old. MD may have hit the nail on the head. smile

Thanks. Jim

I have a couple of boxes of the latest Remington .30-06 ammo, made in the same Arkansas factory as usual, but under Vista Outdoors ownership. The boxes are the same green-and-yellow as Core-Lokt ammo has been for many years.

If you can figure out how to post a photo that would help. (I tried Rock Bin's directions and, like most humans, found them inadequate--so developed my own. Can send them to anybody who wants them. Just private message me.)

unless I am wrong those bullets look like the 139 gr bullets I was loading in some 7 x 57 brass the other night.....

They don't seem like the 140 grain Corelokt, as I have about 400 or so of those left of the 1000 or so I bought on sale cheaply before Obama got in the Oval Office.

It’s easy once you get used to it. No account needed. At the main page you hit the upload image button. There is a drop down to resize the photo - I use the size for message boards but select the bigger size if I want to post a larger better quality photo.

You can also select an expiration date for the photo link to expire. I select that sometimes if selling an item with a visible serial number.

Once it uploads, hit the blue link (looks like a blue notepad with a sheet of paper over it) on the right side for “ Hotlink for forums:” - this copies the link.

Then just paste it right in the post where you want the photo. Looks like this.

Done. Took me longer to write this than to take screen shots, upload to postimage, and paste the photo links.
