that's where I got the striped bolt, all the other needed parts will add up and make it a bad deal.

Yes, unfortunately, buying parts piecemeal almost alwas ends up costing substantially more. Might be better to find a rifle or barreled action, part it out, and keep what you need. You'll probably make money off that deal.
Do you have a rifle without a bolt?

Look on Lampi Auctioneers site, they have an M96 listed as a Mauser Obendorf on an auction closing this week. They are in Annandale MN and they ship. They gun is all matching, but I think it would go low enough to make a good parts gun if thats what you want to do with it.
If you aren't winning, you better be learning !
