Kentucky liquor company 'disheartened' customers buying Rittenhouse whiskey to celebrate verdict

A Kentucky liquor company was "disheartened" to learn some people had been using one of its whiskey brands to celebrate the not guilty verdict for 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse.

Heaven Hill Brands said in a statement posted to Twitter it was unhappy to learn some people were using the company's Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey to "celebrate" the verdict of Rittenhouse, adding there was "no cause for celebration" after the teenager was acquitted on five counts last week.

"We have been disheartened to learn that some individuals and businesses have been using our Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey brand to celebrate the Kyle Rittenhouse case verdict," the liquor company said in the statement. "There is no link between our Rittenhouse Rye brand, which was started post-prohibition to commemorate Rittenhouse square, and this case."

The company said there was "no cause for celebration" following the 2020 incident when "lives were lost" and people were left "deeply affected."

Instead of celebrating the verdict, the world needs "deep reflection on how" people "can make the world a more peaceful and respectful place for all," the company added.

A jury on Friday found Rittenhouse not guilty on all five charges in the fatal shooting of two men and injury of a third during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last summer. Rittenhouse said he acted in self-defense when he fired his rifle.

Rittenhouse has been outspoken since his acquittal, slamming President Joe Biden for labeling him a "white supremacist."

"Mr. President, if I could say one thing to you, I would urge you to go back and watch the trial and understand the facts before you make a statement," Rittenhouse said during a Fox News interview.

The teenager also said during an interview on NewsNation Now that he might consider making changes to conceal his identity, telling host Ashleigh Banfield he may change his name or grow a beard due to backlash from the Left.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Heaven Hill liquors for a statement but did not receive a response.

I'm not giving up the Fighting Cock whiskey sours or the Larceny small batch until I get the whole story .... or until I drink all I have, one or the other. I buy both by the case ... and Costco has great deals on Larceny, a highly underrated small batch.

The best thing you can do is send an articulate “contact” letter using link above stating you will no longer be spending your hard earned dollars with them. About the only way yo get them to stop pushing agendas and political statements is by hurting their bottom line.
